In the context of a business dinner during Powergen 2025, Acromex, Wuxi Lees and EnorChile met in a distended and relaxed encounter where diverse matters where covered.

​It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform of the death of our founder, colleague and friend, Otto Wohlt Zorn, who passed away on last December 14th. Otto passed away unexpectedly after a sudden deterioration of his health.
We will all miss him more than words can express. Otto was not just our Founder and co-worker but our dearest friend. The team at Acromex will make sure that we continue with his passion and honor his will to bring his goals to fruition.

Humboldt Shipmanagement was founded back in 1990. It was the continuation of more than 35 years of previous know-how on ship owning activities, and in managing the fleet of a company founded earlier by Captain Albert von Appen.
Nowadays our fleet is composed of crude oil and clean products Tankers, Chemical Tankers, Gas Tankers, Container Ships, General Cargo Vessels, Bulkcarriers, and Salvage and Port Tugboats. Our actual operations are worldwide, with special focus in South America.

On April 2017, ACROMEX was awarded by Enor Chile for a scheduled maintenance contract and repair services for 3 years for the 44 MW Ujina Generation Plant, located at 4,400 m.s.m.m., of the Mining Company Dona Ines de Collahuasi and operated by EnorChile S.A.
The contract considers the scheduled maintenance of the entire plant that has 4 x Caterpillar Generators Model 12CM43C of 10.8 MW (ISO) and 2 x Generators Caterpillar Model 16CM43C of 13.9 MW (ISO) as well as their auxiliary equipment

One of Chile’s Navy proudest incorporations is the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV 81) “Piloto Pardo. The “Piloto Pardo” is one of four OPV under the Danubio IV project. The vessel driven by two engines diesel Wärtsilä this ship, which will displace 1.771,6 tons full load, will reach a top speed of 20 knots in sea 2 State to 80% MCR. She has equipment to detect and help contain sea contamination. The bridge can be manned with just four persons. The ship operates during summer months in fisheries patrol protection, search and rescue operations and other Chilean sovereignty activities along the country’s long coastline and EEZ. The “Piloto Pardo” was entirely built in Chile following on German OPV Fassmer blueprints adapted for the needs of the Chilean navy and was commissioned in June 2008. She is 80 metres long, has a draught of 3.8 metres, maximum speed of 20 knots, displaces 1.728 tons and includes a small landing pad for a Dauphine helicopter and is equipped with two fast boarding boats. She is manned by a crew of 35 and has an autonomy of approximately 30 days, equivalent to 8.000 nautical miles.
In September, 2014 Acromex is invited to participate in the PID (Programa Inspection Dique) of the of the"Piloto Pardo" and we are entrusted with the maintenance of pumps of various sizes and applications as well as the testing reporting protocol of the two Wartsila 12V26A2 main engines of 4080 Kw each. Among the main activities performed during this process, Acromex checked camshaft gear backlash on both Port and Starboard Engines, Pumps of HT and LT gear backlash , calibration and assembly of the 24 injectors of both port and starboard engines.

n May, 2013, Naviera Santa Maria awards Acromex Chile the overhaul of the main engine of their WellBoat M/V "Don Pedro", a Wartsila Nohab WN8V25.
The engine was removed from the ship and shipped to Acromex facilities in Talcahuano, Chile for a complete refurbishing of the unit.
​Activities included complete refurbishing of engine block, crankshaft, cylinder heads, cylinder liners, connecting rods, injection system, distribution train and Vulkan assembly as well as replacement of most major components in the engine such as piston assemblies, valves and other parts.  
The engine was installed back on the vessel and all protocol engine and sea tests performed and successfully completed.

Barrick Chile Generación is a subsidiary of the Canadian mining company Barrick Gold Corp, world leader in the production of gold. The company owns two power generation initiatives: the Punta Colorada Wind Farm and Power Plant, both located in the town of Punta Colorada, La Higuera commune, Coquimbo Region. Both are connected to the Central Interconnected System (SIC). At the Punta Colorada wind farm, the company operates ten wind turbines with a maximum total power of 20 MW (2 MW each). The Punta Colorada power plant operates in the same sector and provides backup electricity to the SIC. The power station works with Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) as fuel and generates 17 MW of power by one RICE Wartsila 18V46C Miller genset.

In ​2013 Acromex is awarded with the complete overhaul of their RICE which Acromex is able to complete in only two months.  Job consisted of complete engine disassembly, inspection of all engine components and service and/or replacement of damaged parts.
